Tropical aquarium plants, how low can the temperature be?
The plants do not do well inside due to poor light. Running electric light all day would be expensive. I was thinking of having them in pots and giving them time outside with good light, swapping the indoor and outdoor plants every few days. How low a temperature can the tropical plants stand? Or maybe have cold water plants in the tropical tank - would they survive the constant temparature change? The tank outside would only have cold water fish or maybe none at all.
It is not the expence of running lights all day that is the problem. Wasting energy is not good for the planet.

I would like to suggest you the Plant for your aquarium is Java Moss. Java Moss is a great plant for low to medium levels of lighting. Java moss can be attached to rock, wood, or even a coconut shell. To attach this plant as well as Java Fern or Bolbitis (below) just secure it onto the wood with either fishing line or thread.
