How to Care for this Damaged Bonsai?
I got an answer about my damaged Bonsai. It is a Juniper and it came potted in a decorative planter and that part of it was factory wrapped in plastic Like "Saran Wrap' . So I wonder if I should still repot?
It depends on the age and condition of the tree. Bonsai by nature tend to become root bound and need to have their roots trimmed every couple of years. Check the soil to see if it feels compacted and does it drain freely when you water it? if not it's probably time to re pot. If the tree seems to be damaged do not prune off any more roots then are necessary .Dip the ends of the cut roots in rooting hormone powder And water with superthrive plant supplement. Do not add fertilizer until plant starts to recover fertilizer can burn the plant in it's weak condition. Good luck!
